Turkish Cooperation And Coordination Agency Established A Library And Computer Laboratory For Zanzibar State University

Human resource is the most challenging issue for Africa’s development. Human resource is a great problem in every field such as social, economic, and political.

With contributions of TIKA, a computer laboratory and a library are set up to Zanzibar State University. The rector of the university is the President of Zanzibar Mheshimiwa Dk. Ali Mohamed Shein. The vice rector, Prof. İdris A. Rai graduated from Turkey, Bilkent University. An opening ceremony is organized for library and computer laboratory.

The vice rector of Zanzibar State University who himself is also a Turkey graduate delivered a speech during the ceremony and he told that Turkey with its knowledge and experience contributes a lot, not only to Zanzibar but also to all of the region. He also reminded that TİKA is not only conducting projects in Africa but it is working all over the world, and He is very happy for this reason. He conveyed his thanks to TIKA for library and computer laboratory which was an important lack of their university.

The university, which started operating in 2001, contributes seriously to the human resource need of the country. It is planned that the library and computer laboratory will meet most of the needs of university students.
