Turkey Is Sharing Its Experience in National Park Preservation with Montenegro

The delegation of the officials of the Directorate of Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro paid a working visit to Turkey in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey.

During the trip, the delegation visited the protected areas in Turkey and received a briefing from the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey and the officials of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks about the management and preservation of national parks, the fight against diseases and pests, the management of the inventory of plants and animals, and the use of national parks for tourism in Turkey. The delegation, which consisted of 5 high-ranking officials, examined the National Botanical Garden of Turkey in Ankara and the national parks of Abant, Golcuk, and Yedigoller in Bolu.

During the official meeting held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, Jelena Kljajević, Director of Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro, noted that the working visit paid to Turkish institutions and the protected areas examined was of great importance as it contributed to ensuring and developing institutional cooperation between the Directorate of Public Enterprise National Parks of Montenegro and Turkish authorities. Director Kljajević also stated that they exchanged ideas about the operation of protected areas and potential projects to be implemented. She thanked the officials of TİKA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey for their efforts to make this visit possible.
