Training on Renewable Energy in Libya with the Support of TİKA

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Ministry of National Education (MoNE), and the National Board for Technical and Vocational Education of Libya’s Ministry of Education organize vocational training courses on “Renewable Energy and Solar Energy (Photovoltaic) Systems” in Tripoli, the capital of Libya.

TİKA and Libya’s Ministry of Education implement a series of technical cooperation projects in order to share their experiences mutually in the field of vocational education and convey our country’s experience in vocational education to Libya. Such training courses aim to contribute to the normalization of Libya, which is going through difficult times.

Organized in Tripoli, the capital of Libya, in cooperation with Libya’s Ministry of Education as part of the Vocational Training and Employment Programs (MESİP), the 100-hourRenewable Energy and Solar Energy (Photovoltaic) Systems” course, which lasted 2 weeks, was attended by 46 trainees, including Libyan academics and engineers. The training programs, in which the local training kits provided by Turkey to Libya are used, are carried out under the guidance of Aziz Güneroğlu, the Deputy Principal of MoNE Izmit Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.

Organized upon the request of the officials of Libyan Government of National Accord to benefit from Turkey’s experience in vocational training, the training courses aim to satisfy the need for educated members of profession arising from the departure of the foreign labor force due to political and economic crises in Libya.

The courses are organized in active cooperation with Libyan authorities, especially the National Board for Technical and Vocational Education of Libya’s Ministry of Education, in order to train local trainers. With these vocational training courses, TİKA aims to make Libya’s high potential in various fields, especially in human resources, more functional.

The course in Tripoli was the continuation of the vocational training courses successfully completed in the province of Misrata in last October with the support of TİKA. 100 people, including Libyan academics and private-sector engineers, had attended these courses.
