TİKA Supports Women in Agriculture in Kosovo

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided equipment to the Gušica Women’s Association, operating in the village of Gušica in Vitina Municipality, Kosovo, for the production of goat milk and goat dairy products.

TİKA provided equipment to the Gušica Women’s Association, operating in the village of Gušica in Vitina Municipality, for the production of goat milk and goat dairy products through the project “Development of Agricultural Products Processing Technologies in Kosovo – Goat Milk Production,” implemented as part of the “Support Program for Rural Development Investments.” The equipment donated to the association, which has 17 members, enabled the production of not only goat milk, but also value-added dairy products.

The opening ceremony was attended by Çağrı Sakar, Turkey’s Ambassador to Prishtina; Cihan Dinçer, TİKA’s Prishtina Coordinator; Sokol Haliti, Mayor of Vitina; and members of the Gušica Women’s Association.

In his statements, Ambassador Sakar remarked that TİKA is one of the main institutions in Turkey in the field of development assistance with the projects it implements, and stressed the importance of the support provided for the economic development of Kosovo. He underlined that he was happy to attend the opening ceremony of this project, which was implemented to support especially women’s employment.

Cihan Dinçer, TİKA’s Coordinator, stressed that Turkey always stands in solidarity with Kosovo, and that they implemented many projects in various fields such as education, agriculture, and health. He added that the project implemented with the Gušica Women’s Association would create a multiplier effect by providing many benefits such as increasing production, strengthening family economies in rural areas, contributing to employment, and encouraging female farmers in their activities.
