TİKA Supports the 19th International Congress on Intensive Care in Internal and Surgical Sciences

“The 19th International Congress on Intensive Care in Internal and Surgical Sciences and the 11th Eurasia Intensive Care Meeting” organized by the Society of Turkish Intensivists with support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) was held at Antalya Cornelia Diamond Resort Hotel from 9 to 12 November 2022.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic which emerged in December 2019, the congress was held online for 2 years. Intensivists in national and international fields came together and shared their knowledge and experiences in the congress held physically this year. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gürhan Taşkın, Faculty Member of the Intensive Care Clinic at Gülhane Medical Faculty, and Spc. Dr. Hayriye Cankar from the Intensive Care Clinic of Ankara City Hospital served in the scientific secretariat of the congress held under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Sema Turan who is the Member of the Coronavirus Scientific Advisory Board of the Ministry of Health, Lecturer in the Intensive Care Clinic of Ankara City Hospital, and Board Member of STI.

 The most basic and current issues were discussed with their theoretical and practical applications in the congress held with the slogan of “Many Voices, One Breath in Intensive Care”. Intensive care workers exchanged information at the meetings organized with contributions from specialist scientists in the field of intensive care in our country and leading expert foreign speakers.

As a part of the congress to which a total number of 54 national and international firms operating in the field of intensive care contributed, 20 panels, 9 satellite symposiums, 12 “How do I do” sessions as well as an opening cocktail, gala dinner, and 10th November Ceremony were organized in 3 different halls.

Over six hundred domestic and over sixty foreign participants from Hungary, Romania, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and Sudan attended the congress which drew intense attention.
