TİKA Supports Education in Mongolia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) equipped the Erdene District Primary School in Töv, Mongolia.

600 students study at the Erdene District Primary School, which is located nearly 80 km from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, and had not been renovated since its establishment in 1980.

The Agency completed the necessary repair activities and provided the necessary supplies as part of the project, which aimed to create a better learning environment for children and support their personal development.

Thanks to the project, Mongolian children will have the opportunity to study in a better and more comfortable learning environment. The project is expected to set an example for public schools in other rural areas.

The opening ceremony of the project was attended by Zafer Ateş, the Republic of Turkey’s Ambassador to Ulaanbaatar; Emrah Ustaömer, TİKA’s Ulaanbaatar Program Coordinator; Mungunbayar Ayush, District Governor of Erdene; Ceylan Atmaca, TİKA’s Assistant Program Coordinator of Ulaanbaatar; Hosbayar Lkhagvadorj, the principal of the district school; teachers; and students. Students thanked the Republic of Turkey and TİKA and drew pictures depicting the friendly relations between the Turkish and Mongolian people.
