TİKA Strengthens Agricultural Infrastructure in the Jinderes Region

In cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Provincial Directorate for Agriculture and Forestry of Hatay, the greenhouse project in the Jinderes Region was carried out.

The main source of income in the Jinderes Region is the agricultural sector. The region that is at the forefront with its olive production has the potential to solve the food security problem in Syria if it is introduced to advanced agricultural production.

Accordingly, the greenhouse set up in the Jinderes Region through the project carried out by TİKA in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate for Agriculture and Forestry of Hatay and the Local Council of Jinderes will contribute to agricultural production and serve as a model for agricultural training.

Speaking at the inauguration of the project, President of the Local Council of Jinderes, Mahmoud Haffar said, “the development of our region in agriculture will be for the benefit of whole Syria. We thank Türkiye for their support and hope to see more of these projects.”

The micro-size and revenue-generating agricultural projects held by TİKA in the region are aimed to continue in the upcoming periods.
