TİKA Shares Turkey's Experience in Counter-terrorism with Friendly Nations

Thanks to the collaboration between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Justice Academy of Turkey, the "Online Colloquium Program on Fight Against Terror Crimes" was carried out for the judges and prosecutors from Chad, Algeria, Ethiopia, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.

As part of the program, various seminars have been held on topics such as Turkey's Counter-terrorism Policies and Strategies, Effective Prosecution Methods for Terror Crimes, International Legal Cooperation in the Investigations and Prosecutions for Terror Crimes.

In his speech during the opening ceremony of the colloquium which was attended by 32 judges, prosecutors and law experts from 9 countries, TİKA Vice President Dr. Rahman Nurdun expressed his satisfaction in creating projects for the development of legal and judicial areas. Having stated that it was everyone's responsibility to protect the rights of the people who have been directly or indirectly affected by terror as well as to eliminate the main reasons that cause terrorism, Nurdun said that the best way to ensure this was to increase the collaboration between the countries and carry out the proposed solutions on a common ground. Muhittin Özdemir, the Justice Academy of Turkey President, said: “It's our greatest wish that the experiences and best practices on counter-terrorism are shared thanks to this colloquium”

As part of the colloquium that took 2 days, judges and prosecutors from 9 countries were given seminars on several topics. Various training programs for judges and prosecutors are planned to go on in the upcoming period in a collaboration with Justice Academy within the scope of the Justice Services Training Program by TİKA.
