In cooperation with the Serbian Commissariat for Refugees and Migration (KIRS), one ton of food supplies have been delivered to the Tutin Refugee Camp, where 200 refugees from 19 families who come from Morocco, Syria, Algeria, Iraq and Afghanistan live.
The fruitfulness of Ramadan has been shared with the old and disabled people who cannot leave their houses in Novi Pazar and Sjenica. Thanks to the young volunteers of the Svetionik Association which we are in cooperation with, 1,000 meals of hot food that have been procured by our agency have been delivered to needy people in special containers half an hour before the iftar time.
Senad Halitovic, the Mufti of Sandžak of the Islamic Union of Serbia, expressed his gratitude by saying: “In cooperation with the Islamic Union of Serbia, TİKA has delivered 2,000 food packages consisting of basic needs to Muslims in Serbia, who are facing financial difficulties this year. I'd like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks. This is really an important humanitarian aid, especially in the days of Ramadan Mubarak.”
Hami Aksoy, Ambassador of Turkey in Belgrade, got together with our brothers and sisters, mostly the Romani people, in the Ledine neighborhood of Belgrade. Aksoy reminded that the month of Ramadan was the month of unity and solidarity, and stated that TİKA has delivered the messages of Yunus Emre, Haji Bektash Veli and Ahi Evran, valuable figures from our culture, to everyone who received the aid packages as part of Erenler Sofrası in Serbia.
