21 October 2021TİKA's Advanced Technology Training Center Opened in Azerbaijan
The digital design and production laboratory "Cezeri-Lab", established by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) within Azerbaijan Technical University, was put into service with a ceremony.
Turkish Ambassador to Baku Dr. Cahit Bağcı, Deputy Minister of Education of Azerbaijan İdris Isayev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University Prof. Dr. Vilayet Veliyev, TİKA Baku Program Coordinator Fatih Yılmaz, University officials and students attended the opening program.
In the opening program, the participants were informed about the laboratory, which enables people to work on 3D design, modeling and production, robotics and mechatronics.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Turkish Ambassador to Baku Dr. Cahit Bağcı emphasized the importance of the project in terms of enabling Azerbaijan Technical University students to follow the developments in education in the world closely and expressed that university students and faculty members will undertake innovative projects thanks to the laboratory. Stating that the laboratory being named after İsmail El-Cezeri, who has a special position in the science history, is meaningful, Ambassador Bağcı thanked TİKA for making the project come to life.
These laboratories are an extension of the 3D Design and 3D Printer Training conducted by TİKA and were previously established in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sudan, Algeria and Lebanon. In order to promote and preserve our national values, the name "Cezeri-Lab" was inspired by İsmail al-Cezeri, who was known as the "Father of Robots" by world authorities and lived in the time of the Artuqids, the first Turkish State in Anatolia.
People can carry out 3D design, modeling and production, robotic and mechatronic studies in the laboratory. In addition, there are various types of 3D printers and scanners, laser cutting, CNC router devices, desktop lathes, drill benches, computers, digital microscopes, robotic training sets, and various mechanical-electronic tools and equipment, most of which are produced in Turkey.
