TİKA Renovated an Assisted Living Facility for People with Disabilities in Hungary

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated the Keep on Living Association Assisted Living Facility for People with Disabilities in Perbál, Hungary.

The assisted living facility built in 1996 by Keep on Living Association, founded in 1990 at the initiative of the families of children with disabilities, provides shelter, care, and rehabilitation for 39 children and young people with mostly severe physical or mental disabilities and offers guidance and consultancy to the families of people with disabilities with the efforts of the staff of the association and volunteers.

The project for the renovation of the assisted living facility, which was implemented by TİKA and Keep on Living Association, aimed to make life easier for children and young people with disabilities and their families, ensure their social integration, contribute to equality of opportunity, and raise public awareness about the problems faced by people with disabilities.

As part of the project, TİKA renovated and furnished the 40-bed Keep on Living Association Assisted Living Facility for People with Disabilities in Perbál, which had not been renovated for 24 years, in order to enable the facility to continue its social assistance activities in a healthy living environment, meet the needs, and remain in service for a long time.

The opening ceremony of the Assisted Living Facility was attended by Muzaffer Küçük, Deputy Clerk at the Turkish Embassy in Budapest, and the officials of the association and TİKA’s Coordination Office in Budapest.
