TİKA Put a Smile on the Faces of Orphans in Iraq

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) improved the physical conditions of the El-Devle Orphanage in Iraq and provided equipment support.

Located in the city of Babil, 120 km south of Baghdad, the capital city of Iraq, “El Devle Orphanage” serves as a social shelter established in 1962. The orphanage is home to 15 children in total, whose ages range between 7-18. With the project carried on by TİKA, the physical conditions of the orphanage was improved, and the equipment needed was provided.

TİKA’s Coordinator, Oğuzhan Dinler; El-Devle Orphanage Director, Hıdayır Hamza Selman; representatives of Governorship of Babylon; representatives of Disability and Special Needs Care Institution and representatives of various non-governmental organizations attended the opening ceremony of the project which aims to improve the service offered to orphans.

El Devle Orphanage Director Selman thanked TİKA for their support to the orphans.
