TİKA Provides Tourism Training to Algerian Specialists

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye held the “Advanced Training of Trainers on Food and Beverage, Accommodation, and Travel Services” at Falez Vocational and Technical High School for Algerian Tourism Specialists as part of the Tourism Education Program (TUREP).

The “TUREP Advanced Training of Trainers on Food and Beverage, Accommodation, and Travel Services” was held for instructors from the National Higher School of Tourism (Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Tourisme) in Algeria from September 26 to October 7, 2022, under the “Protocol for Cooperation in Vocational and Technical Education” between TİKA and the General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education of Türkiye.

During the two-week training, instructors, who are experts in their fields, focused on “Travel Agency Management and Tour Operations, Automation Software, Tableware, Table Setting, and Carrying and Collecting Tableware, Meat Dishes, Hot and Cold Sauces, and Desserts.” The trainees had the chance to practice in the workshops of Falez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Antalya, as well as at 5-star hotels.

Certificates were presented to the trainees at the ceremony held at the end of the training. The certificate presentation ceremony was attended by Dr. Onur Yaşar, a TİKA specialist; Ersümer Eren, Principal of Falez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School; Ladrha Abdelkayoum, Director-General of the National Higher School of Tourism; instructors; and guests.

Ladrha Abdelkayoum, Director-General of the National Higher School of Tourism, stated that they were pleased with the training program and thanked TİKA and the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye.

Ersümer Eren, Principal of Falez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, noted that the training process was great and highly productive and that he hoped the cooperation in the fields of education and culture would contribute to strengthening the friendly relations and the ties of solidarity between the two countries.

Dr. Onur Yaşar, a TİKA specialist, stressed the importance of tourism in the development of countries and stated that the training would contribute to vocational tourism education and human resource development in the tourism industry in Algeria.
