19 June 2020TİKA Provides Medical Supplies to Uzbekistan to Combat the Outbreak
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided medical PPE to healthcare providers in Uzbekistan to combat the COVID-19 outbreak.
Protective and surgical masks, goggles, galoshes, gloves, disinfectant gels and sprays procured by TİKA were delivered to the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare, affiliated with Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers. In his speech at the delivery ceremony, TİKA’s Tashkent Coordinator Cemalettin Tüney noted that they aim to contribute to the fight of Uzbek healthcare providers against the outbreak with 5,000 masks, 10,000 surgical masks, 5,000 goggles, 500,000 galoshes, 100,000 pairs of gloves, 100 bottles of disinfectant gels, and 100 bottles of disinfectant sprays. He added that TİKA’s assistance projects in the country would continue.
Chairman of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare Ravshan Izamov stated that they very much needed the supplies provided by TİKA, and thanked Turkey and the Turkish people for this assistance. Izamov noted that Uzbek healthcare providers who take part in the fight against the outbreak were very satisfied with the medical supplies that had been previously provided by TİKA to combat the outbreak. After the speeches, Tüney and Izamov signed the protocol for the delivery of the humanitarian aid.
TİKA had previously provided medical supplies and food to Uzbekistan to combat COVID-19.
