TİKA Provides Medical Equipment to a Children’s Hospital in Hungary

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided medical equipment to Szent János Central Hospital, operating in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

With its Pediatric Unit, Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology Unit, Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Unit, Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Rehabilitation Unit, Central-North Buda New Szent János Central Hospital is the only hospital serving patients aged 0-18 years in the Buda side of Budapest.

As part of the project it implemented in order to support the health services provided by the pediatric rehabilitation and gastroenterology units, TİKA provided a video gastroscope, a muscle physiotherapy machine, a pulse oximeter, and a central neural signal processing device to the hospital, which provides acute treatment and rehabilitation.

The high-technology medical equipment delivered to the hospital's executive staff is expected to facilitate the timely diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in babies, children, and adolescents; improve physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices; and contribute to the research studies of the hospital, which is a member of the National Center for Neuromuscular Disorders and the Center for Rare Diseases.
