15 September 2023TİKA Provides Education Equipment Support to Afghan Students
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided schoolbag and education equipment support to the students of Mahcube Hirevi Primary School in Afghanistan’s Mazar-i-Sharif.
Within the scope of the project TİKA carried out in Afghanistan, 750 students, 315 of whom are male and 435 of whom are female; were provided with schoolbags and stationery sets. Also, according to the needs of the school, white boards, laser printers and other necessary equipments were also delivered to the school administrators.
In the delivery ceremony, Republic of Türkiye Mazar-i Sharif Vice Consul General Mustafa Küçüktetik, Mazar-i-Sharif Provincial Director of Education Hafız Muhammed Naim Belhi, TİKA’s coordinator in Mazar-i-Sharif Mikail Taşdemir, Head Mistress of Mahcube Hirevi Primary School Firuzan Milad Kazizade, formal and volunteer teachers of the school, parents of the students and local press were present.
Mazar-i-Sharif Provincial Director of Education Hafız Belhi, reminding that the school is performing its services in a rented building, thanked Turkish people and Republic of Türkiye for the support TİKA has provided them and emphasized how important this support is for the school that uses even half built rooms as classrooms.
The head mistress Kazizade gave information about the history of the school; stating that when it was founded in 2021, it had 60 students and 3 female teachers and the number of students has reached to 750 in a short time.
Kazizade has also emphasized that the education activities in the school continue thanks to the donations of the citizens in the region and 13 volunteer female teachers.
Stating that they continue their education activity under hard conditions, Kazizade thanked TİKA for the support that was provided for them.
