TİKA Provided Ramadan Aid to Families with Visual and Hearing Impairment in Kyrgyzstan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided food aid to 110 families with parents with disabilities in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The distribution ceremony held in the front yard of the housing estate allocated by the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic to parents with disabilities was attended by Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic; Ahmet Sadık Doğan, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Bishkek, and his wife, Mariya Doğan; and Osman Usta, TİKA’s Coordinator in Bishkek.

In his speech, Minister Kudaibergen Bazarbaev stated that they were grateful to Türkiye for this meaningful support during Ramadan, and that he was pleased that they will provide food aid to 770 families in need across Kyrgyzstan this year in cooperation with TİKA.

Ahmet Sadık Doğan, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Bishkek, delivered a speech and noted that TİKA and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDF) will distribute nearly 6,000 food parcels in Kyrgyzstan during the entire month of Ramadan. Doğan thanked those who contributed to the distribution, saying that they were happy to share the food sent from Türkiye with the people of Kyrgyzstan, a friendly and sister country.

Shahrezada Askarova, Director at the Kyrgyz Society for the Blind and Deaf, noted that children attend music, dance, and language courses at the Child Development Center, built by TİKA in 2019. Askarova thanked Türkiye, saying that the food aid provided during Ramadan once again with the support of TİKA meant a lot to them. 

As part of its Ramadan Programs, TİKA will deliver 3000 food parcels containing staples such as dates, pasta, vegetable oil, flour, rice, tea, and sugar to families in need in all parts of the country in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan, the Red Crescent Society of Kyrgyzstan, and several NGOs.
