TİKA Provided “Introduction to the Integrated Learning and Teaching Models” Training in Uzbekistan

In the scope of the Education & Learning Support Program (ELSP), the “Introduction to the Integrated Learning and Teaching Models” training, carried out with the cooperation of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Ministry of Education, was provided to 152 teachers and academicians participants between 29 May – 03 June 2023 in Andijan, Uzbekistan.

Within the training, STEM, the project-based teaching model in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, was conveyed to 152 participants attending from 16 different regions of Andijan. There were workshops in the fields of teaching methods based on problem-solving, interdisciplinary lecture design, computational thinking skills, robotics and game design, awareness of microcontroller usage in education and artificial intelligence usage in education, which are components of the “Hârezmî Training Model” named after the famous Uzbek scientist El Hârezmî. During the education program, which included group work in problem-solving and lasted for 6 days, the teachers developed various projects aimed at problem-solving in their works.

Uzbekistan Ministry of Preschool and School Education Andijan Province President, Resul Kerimov; TİKA’s Coordinator in Tashkent, Ali Rıza Tezcan; Z.M. Babür Universal Academy Principal, Nilüfer Haydarova and trainers coming from Türkiye attended the opening of the program hold in Andijan, Uzbekistan. In his speech, Kerimov emphasized that this was the first time this program was held in Andijan and thanked Türkiye.

TİKA's Coordinator Ali Rıza Tezcan mentioned the historical friendship between Türkiye and Uzbekistan and informed the audience about TİKA’s activities in Uzbekistan.

On the 5th day of the program, Andijan Province Governor Şuhratbek Abdurahmonov visited the school where the training was carried out, and examined it. Stating that the experiences the teachers gain within the project are highly important, Abdurahmonov expressed his appreciation towards the project.

On the last day of the project, the participants exhibited the items that they made during the project. After the workshop, the certificates of the Uzbek teachers were presented.
