“2nd Turkic World Literature and Book Festival” Was Held in Baku, the Capital of Azerbaijan, with TİKA’s Support

“2nd Turkic World Literature and Book Festival” was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, jointly by the International Turkish Authors Association and Union of Azerbaijani Writers and with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

The festival, attributed to Azerbaijan’s national leader Haydar Aliyev’s 100th birthday, included art and literature activities like book launches, autograph sessions, poem and song performances, folk dancing and movie screening. Turkic World communities’ history, culture, art and big names of their literature were introduced to book lovers.

The festival was held between 5-11 June in the garden of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and each day of the festival was named after a Turkish state with presentations, concerts and movie screenings about the important figures of the art and literature field of the state.

Institutions like the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), the Executive Power of Baku City, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation sponsored the festival, where lots of publishers attended and the books were displayed.
