TİKA Organizes a Ramadan Program in Georgia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) held an iftar dinner for 250 people in Marneuli in cooperation with the Office of the Counsellor for Religious Services at the Turkish Embassy in Tbilisi, and the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia.

The iftar dinner held at the multi-purpose hall built in the Marneuli Mosque with the support of TİKA was attended by Fatma Ceren YAZGAN, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Tbilisi; Faig Guliyev, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Tbilisi; Dr. İsrafil Kışla, Chief Advisor to the President of the Republic of Türkiye; Ali Özgün Öztürk, Head of the Department of Central Asia and Caucasus at TİKA; Tuba Özütok, TİKA’s Coordinator in Tbilisi; Hafız Osman Şahin from the Directorate of Religious Affairs; Ahmet Erdem, Counsellor for Religious Services; Zaza Vashakmadze, Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues of Georgia; Zaur Dargallı, MP for Marneuli; Kenan Omarov, Mayor of Marneuli; Muftis affiliated with the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia; and local people.

At the iftar dinner, Ali Özgün Öztürk, Head of the Department of Central Asia and Caucasus at TİKA, informed the guests about TİKA’s activities and said that he was happy to be in that hall, which was built with the support of TİKA, and see the guests gathered on the occasion of Ramadan.

Speaking to press members after the iftar dinner held at the multi-purpose hall, built by TİKA in the Marneuli Central Mosque, affiliated with the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia, Müfti Etibar Eminov said, “It is a very important and joyful day for us, as clergymen. We have been holding iftar dinners for 40 to 50 people in this hall, which was built by TİKA, every evening since the beginning of Ramadan. Anyone can come and break their fast here. Today, we set up a dinner table with the support of TİKA. I hope that this beautiful place will bring good luck and prosperity to everyone. I wish Muslims in Georgia and all around the world a happy Ramadan, and I pray that Allah will bestow peace and tranquility on our world.”

Meetings and training courses will be held at the multi-purpose hall built by TİKA in the Marneuli Mosque.
