TİKA Introduces the “Turkish Model in Agricultural Commercialization” to Tajik Experts

As part of the "Agricultural Commercialization Project" carried out in a collaboration between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Republic of Tajikistan Ministry of Finance and The World Bank, a committee of 11 people consisting of experts from Tajikistan Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and private sector paid a working visit to Turkey.

The committee carried out inspections in Antalya and Konya as part of the working visit during which Turkey shared their experience in agricultural machinery and technology, seed growing and greenhousing.

The visiting committee carried out inspections in the Faculty of Agriculture of Akdeniz University, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, West Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute (BATEM) and the seed and greenhouse manufacturing companies of the private sector in Antalya; as well as the projects carried out as part of the Güneysınır District Young Farmer Support carried out by Konya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Konya Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute. The committee also visited the private sector factories working in agricultural equipment and machinery in Konya and Antalya in order to obtain information.

The purpose of the Agricultural Commercialization Project is to provide financing as either grants or loans to women, young people under 30 and the people with disabilities so that they can purchase new agricultural machinery or manufacturing equipment and start their own small business.
