TİKA Has Implemented Winter Greenhouse Projects in Mongolia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) built winter greenhouses with modern equipment in two different regions of Mongolia.

TİKA implements various projects to strengthen the agricultural sector, increase employment, and improve food security in Mongolia. In this context, in 2020, winter greenhouses with drip irrigation system, water tank, and heating and ventilation system were built on the land owned by the Mongolian Greenhouse Farmers Association in Ulaanbaatar and on another land in the district of Tarialan in Uvs Province, located approximately 1,650 km from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

The winter greenhouses built by TİKA enable farmers to grow vegetables such as spinach, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, peppers, onions, and cucumbers, as well as the seedlings of these vegetables to be distributed to other greenhouse operators, all year round.

Winter greenhouse projects have been exemplary projects in the agricultural sector with their benefits such as improving the greenhouse industry, creating new jobs, and contributing to the national economy in Mongolia.
