TİKA Put a Smile on the Faces of Orphans in Kazakhstan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided winter and summer clothing to 110 orphans in Kazakhstan.

As part of the “Erenler Hırkası” project, an aid distribution ceremony was held at TİKA’s Nur-Sultan Coordination Office with the slogan “When an orphan smiles, the whole world smiles.” Within the scope of this project, which was implemented as a continuation of the “Erenler Sofrası” program, launched by TİKA during Ramadan, gift packages containing winter and summer clothes were distributed to 110 orphans living in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan. The ceremony was attended by representatives of international and Turkish institutions and press members.

As part of the “Erenler Hırkası” project, implemented with the slogan “When an Orphan Smiles, the Whole World Smiles,” 110 orphans were provided with winter and summer clothes and sportswear and were offered treats.

In his speech at the ceremony, İsmail Gürlek, Nur-Sultan Coordinator, noted that the project in question was a responsibility project, and said, “Children are the guarantee of our lives, our world, and our countries. With this awareness, we feel happy when we interact closely with them and witness their joy.”

Stating that they distributed a total of 1200 food packages in Kazakhstan during Ramadan as part of the “Erenler Sofrası” program, Gürlek said, “We thought that we should dress children in ‘Erenler Hırkası’ as a continuation of the ‘Erenler Sofrası’ project. In addition to our ongoing projects in the fields of science, technology, agriculture, infrastructure, and health, such social responsibility projects mean a lot to us.”

Children who received their gift packages had fun in the special area built in the front yard.

Nur-Sultan Program Coordination Office had previously distributed a total of 1200 food packages, including 500 food packages and 700 staple food packages, in 3 provinces within the scope of the Erenler Sofrası Ramadan Solidarity Program, launched by TİKA.
