TİKA furnished two schools in Kashmir

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) furnished two schools of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Rawalakot and Banjosa regions, where approximately 550 students are studying.

In inauguration ceremony of joint collaboration project of TİKA and KEF, President of AJ&K Serdar Masood Khan, Turkish Ambassador Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, TİKA Pakistan Coordinator Gökhan Umut, Senior Joint Secretary of Economic Affairs Division Awais Nauman kundi, Senior Officials, Teachers from KEF and students from the foundation schools participated.

President Masood Khan, in his speech showed gratitude to Turkey on instant help in earth quake of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. After the earthquake, Turkey was the first country there for rehabilitation work before any other. Rescue, rehabilitation and in reconstruction work Turkey has done wonderful job. He said, there are many paces named as Turkish Square, Turkish building and Turkish corner in Muzaffarabad today.

Masood Khan also pointed out the importance given by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Kashmir issue. He said “Recep Tayyip Erdogan, few years back in his parliament speech in Pakistan he said that Kashmiris should determine their own destiny. He also raised the issue during his visit to India. Finally, after the India's step on 5 August 2019 in Jammu Kashmir, he raised the issue boldly at the United Nations meeting”. Khan also expressed that he is following TİKA activities in Pakistan and said  TİKA's is doing very important contributions especially in the field of education.

Ambassador Yurdakul said that in time to time meeting with president they discussed about the requirements of education sector of AJ&K.  Yurdakul said, TİKA particularly, all Turkish institutions and organizations carry out tasks to meet the needs of friendly and brotherly country Pakistan as fundamental task. He said at the time of any annoyance, grief or happiness in Turkey, Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir citizens living in feel it in his heart and the distances between us and become zero.

TİKA Pakistan Coordinator Gökhan Umut briefed about the activities of TİKA in Pakistan. He also expressed that our best efforts in uplifting the economic, agriculture, vocational training centres and health care services in Pakistan are being carried out by TİKA.

During the program students of Kashmir Education Foundation Schools take part in performances showing Turkish and Pakistani cultures.
