TİKA Created Agricultural Training and Production Areas in Pakistan

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) created agricultural training and production areas in three different schools in Karachi to enable Pakistani children to learn agricultural production processes and grow their own organic vegetables at an early age.

As the food security risk and the importance of organic agriculture are increasing day by day, TİKA created agricultural training and production areas in three schools in Karachi, the most populated city in Pakistan, in order to leave agricultural production practices to future generations. Thanks to the pilot agricultural fields created by TİKA, students in these schools will be able to closely monitor and practice all agricultural production activities.

Theoretical and applied training programs were held in many fields, such as sowing, irrigation, and soil care, in the pilot agricultural fields created in the Ida Rieu School for the Blind and Deaf, the Al-Mustafa School and Orphanage, and the Idara Al-Khair Surjani Campus. Students who attended these training courses planted their first seeds and seedlings under the supervision of an agricultural specialist from TİKA.
