As part of its assistance activities against the global COVID-19 outbreak, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided food aid to 1,000 families in need in the cities of Gharo and Dhabeji in Sindh Province, the most impoverished province in Pakistan.

In Sindh Province, TİKA delivered food parcels to the houses of 1,000 families who were found to have financial difficulties due to the curfew imposed across the country.

Pakistan Coast Guard Vice Admiral Faisal Lodhi thanked the Turkish people for the successful operation carried out by TİKA in cooperation with the Pakistan Navy and stated that the Turkish Government stood in solidarity with Pakistan as always.

TİKA’s Karachi Coordinator İbrahim Katırcı noted that TİKA’s food aid reduced the burden on families with members who are casual workers or lost their jobs. He added that they would launch a food assistance program for 3,000 families in the cities of Karachi and Tando Allahyar during the month of Ramadan.
