TİKA Continues to Help Earthquake Victims in Croatia to Get Back on Their Feet

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) supported people living in containers in earthquake-hit regions in Croatia, providing commode chairs to people with disabilities and distributing 300 electric stoves to families in cooperation with the Croatian Red Cross.

After the earthquake that hit Croatia in December 2020, TİKA had provided fully-equipped containers to nearly 300 families, whose houses were destroyed or became completely uninhabitable in and around Sisak. This time, TİKA supported people living in containers, providing 60 commode chairs to people with disabilities and distributing 300 electric stoves to families.

In his speech at the delivery ceremony held for the equipment, Igor Čičak, Regional Director of the Red Cross, stated that TİKA was the only organization to provide assistance in the region after the earthquake that occurred nearly 9 months ago, and that they were grateful for the support provided.

As the first foreign mission to arrive in the region after the earthquake, TİKA had previously provided 500 blankets, 24 tonnes of food, 810 hygiene parcels, and a refrigerated food delivery vehicle.
