TİKA Continues Operations In Macedonia

Macedonian Republic’s President Gorge Ivanov received Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency President Dr. Serdar Çam and the accompanying delegation that were in Balkans to form various contacts and participate in openings.

The negotiation which took place in Ohri Summer Mansion was participated by TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam, Head of the Balkans and Eastern Europe Department Ali Maskan, Head of Human Resources and Support Services Department Dr. Gökçen Kalkan, TIKA officials and Consultants of the Lulyeta Kyufliu ve Elisaveta Ivanov.

During the negotiations, TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam stated that he is honored to be received by President of Macedonian Republic. TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam offered his gratitude to Macedonian Republic’s President Ivanov for the special support he has given to TIKA’s projects and operations in Macedonia especially Ali Rıza Efendi Memorial House. TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam has also declared that their cooperation with the foundation founded by Macedonian Republic’s President Ivanov’s wife shall continue.

Macedonian Republic’s President Ivanov thanked TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam for TIKA’s contributions for Macedonia’s development. Macedonian Republic’s President Ivanov stated that all Macedonian citizens are pleased with TIKA’s operations and announced that projects in various areas such as agriculture, education, health and vocational training are being carried out. Stating that they attribute great importance on TIKA’s renovation of Skopje Children’s Hospital Emergency Department and that the hospital will the most modern hospital in the region, Macedonian Republic’s President Ivanov underlined that the relations between Turkey and Macedonia constitute a good example on how relations between two friendly nations should be. The negotiation ended with mutual expressing of wishes of goodwill following exchanging of gifts.

TIKA continues to restore Ottoman monuments
Ottoman work of architecture Halveti Hayati Çullu Baba Tekke and Mosque located in Kırcova, Western Macedonia was restored and opened to service by TIKA.

During his opening speech TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam stated that they attach great importance to the restoration of historical buildings in Balkans and that they restored many monuments in the region so far. Expressing his contentment for the restoration and opening of Halveti Hayati Çullu Baba Tekke and Mosque, TIKA President Dr. Serdar Çam further stated that he wishes for the opening to be beneficial to all. Following the opening ceremony, halva and sherbet were offered to the participants.

The ceremony was participated by Head of the Balkans and Eastern Europe Department Ali Maskan, Head of TIKA Human Resources and Support Services Department Dr. Gökçen Kalkan, TIKA Macedonia Coordinator Mahmut Çevik, Association of Turkish Civil Organizations of Macedonia President Tahsin İbrahim, Kırçova Mayor Fatmir Dehari, Central Jupa Mayor Ardiyan İsmail, officials from Turkish Embassy in Skopje, Representatives of the Islamic Association of Macedonia, some Turkish businessmen who operate in Macedonia and several citizens.

TIKA President Çam and the accompanying delegation later visited the Mirko Milevski High school additional building construction site undertaken by TIKA and Bektaşi Ziya Baba Tekke in Kırçova.
