11 July 2013Support For Asia Renewable Energy School Workshop In Malaysia
Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency conducted the Asia Renewable Energy School Workshop in Selangor, Malaysia with the cooperation of UNESCO, ISESCO and SERI.
The Workshop was also participated by Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam and Maldives.
During the opening ceremony of the workshop which was held in Malaysia Kebangsaan University’s campus, SERI (Solar Energy Research Institute) President Prof. Kamaruzzaman Sopian and ISESCO official Helal Mohammad Ahsanullah underlined the future importance of renewable energy and thanked TIKA for its contributions on education.
The participants were informed on solar power (photovoltaic solar technology, solar thermal technologies), wind power, geothermal energy, hydropower and biomass energy, the use of Homer software in micro power system design, practical use of RETScreen software and renewable hydrogen production systems. The participants visited Renewable Energy Park, Green Technology Institute and SERI laboratories and tried solar panel implementation in Silicon Solar Cell Laboratory.
At the last day of the workshops the participants had the opportunity to share their experiences through presentations regarding the renewable energy practices of their own countries, and to discuss possible future implementations.
