TİKA Built a Winter Greenhouse for the Mongolian Greenhouse Farmers Association

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) built a winter greenhouse with drip irrigation system, water tank, and heating and ventilation system on a land of 400 sq. meters owned by the Mongolian Greenhouse Farmers Association in order to develop the agricultural sector, increase employment, and improve food security in Mongolia.

Many small- and medium-sized enterprises operating in the newly-developing greenhouse industry in Mongolia need support. Supporting greenhouse farmers who have difficulties in accessing inputs such as seeds and seedlings, while facing other problems such as the lack of investment and experienced workforce as well, the Greenhouse Farmers Association aims to grow healthy and high-yielding seedlings and ensure the harmonization of the seed policy.

Supporting the Greenhouse Farmers Association as part of its project, TİKA built a winter greenhouse with drip irrigation system, water tank, and heating and ventilation system on a land of 400 sq. meters. The aim is to grow vegetable seedlings in this winter greenhouse and distribute them to other greenhouse farmers.

In his speech at the delivery ceremony of the project, Jargaltsengel Erhembayar, Managing Director of the Mongolian Greenhouse Farmers Association, stated that the project contributed greatly to solving the problems encountered by their members when growing seedlings. Reminding the importance of the project once again, Erhembayar thanked TİKA and the Republic of Turkey.

Founded in Mongolia in 2012 with the aim of supporting the development of greenhouse cultivation, the Mongolian Greenhouse Farmers Association provides training and consultancy in the field of greenhouse cultivation to its members, consisting of 30 enterprises and 300 individuals. Bringing together enterprises in the greenhouse industry, the Association aims to ensure the sustainable development of greenhouse investments and greenhouse production in line with Mongolia’s development goals.
