TİKA Builds a Digital Fabrication Laboratory

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) built a 3D Digital Fabrication Laboratory within the Research Center for Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST), affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Algeria.

The first of the Digital Fabrication Laboratories planned to be built in many countries as part of the project launched by TİKA was built in Algeria.

In addition to the laboratory built within the CERIST and equipped with 3D printers with different features, high-resolution 3D scanners, and manufacturing equipment, TİKA built an IT laboratory with 16 computers connected to the laboratory and distance learning capabilities. 

In his statement, Prof. Hacène Belbachir, Director of the CERIST, noted that the support provided by TİKA was important for them in terms of technology transfer. Prof. Belbachir stated that thanks to the laboratory built, Algerian specialists would be trained in 3D software and design in many fields from engineering to fundamental sciences to archeology to industrial design with the help of new technologies. Prof. Belbachir thanked TİKA for the support.
