TİKA Supports the Development of the Furniture Industry in Georgia

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) built a furniture training workshop in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. 

Within the scope of the cooperation between TİKA and the School of Masters in Georgia, a furniture training workshop was put into service in the City of Masters Industrial Zone in Tbilisi, where there are approximately 170 small- and medium-scale furniture manufacturers.

In the workshop, which is equipped with modern woodworking machinery and tools, it is aimed to train 800 people in furniture making in 3 years through short-term training programs. The training provided will contribute to the training of specialists and meeting their employment needs.  

The project will also take the cooperation between the two countries to the next level in the fields of education and industry.  

80 to 90% of the machinery and raw materials needed by the enterprises operating in the furniture industry in Georgia are supplied from Turkey.
