The “Online Diplomacy Journalism Basic Training Program” Has Been Conducted by TİKA and AA

Conducted by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Anadolu Agency News Academy, the “Online Diplomacy Journalism Basic Training Program” has been completed successfully.

Sharing Turkey’s successful practices and experience in many fields with friendly countries through various projects and programs, TİKA has successfully organized many training courses in cooperation with AA News Academy as part of the Journalism Training Program.

As part of this program, more than 600 members of the media have been trained face-to-face or online in cooperation with Anadolu Agency since 2017.

Online training courses, which were developed as a solution to the difficulties caused by the pandemic in 2020, continue in 2021. The Diplomacy Journalism Basic Training Program (Turkish), the first online training program in the field of media this year, was conducted with the participation of 18 media representatives from the TRNC and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the 9-hour basic training program conducted from February 23 to 25, experienced reporters of AA News Academy covered the topics “Diplomacy Journalism,” “Conflict Zones and Conflict Analysis,” “Agenda and Source in International Journalism,” and “Interviewing Techniques.”

In his statement on the first day of the Diplomacy Journalism Basic Training Program, Uğur Tanyeli, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Partnerships at TİKA, said that the training courses held as part of the Journalism Training Program provided reporters working in different countries with quick access to the firsthand information they need to do their jobs, thanks to the friendly relations and social network they have established, and enabled them to share this information in their countries quickly.

In his speech at the beginning of the program, Alptekin Cihangir İşbilir, Director of Anadolu Agency (AA) News Academy, stressed the importance of the media training programs conducted by TİKA in strengthening the capacity of the local media in sister and friendly countries.

The Online Diplomacy Journalism Advanced Training, the second phase of the program, after the Diplomacy Journalism Basic Training (Turkish), will be held from March 9 to 11, 2021.
