The Construction Of The School In Afghanistan's Belh Province Was Completed And Opened With A Ceremony

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate, which has completed a number of projects in Afghanistan, from education to health, road building to women’s activities, will contribute greatly to the education of Afghani students in the Belh Province Çarkent District town of Pas-i Çay with the newly built multi-educational training center.

The multi-educational center, which is one of the largest projects realized by TİKA in Afghanistan, was opened with a ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Turkey’s Mezar-i Şerif Ambassador Güneş Yeşildağ, İslami Vahdet Party Parliamentarians Serdar Seyidi, Abbas İbrahimzade and Hacı Abdu, TİKA and Afghan officials and a number of citizens.

In his opening speech Turkey’s Mezar-i Şerif Ambassador Yeşildağ said that the school built by TİKA would contribute to the education in the region and that the journey of Afghanistan to more enlightened days will be made faster through education. While pointing out that the brotherhood and friendship between Turkish and Afghan communities has a long history, Turkey’s Mezar-i Şerif Ambassador added that the solidarity between the people of the two countries would continue. Turkey’s Mezar-i Şerif Ambassador Yeşildağ said that contributions towards education in particular and health in Afghanistan would continue to be made. He also emphasized that the best method to solve all problems is through education; therefore “Problems will be overcome with education and a bright future will be achieved for Afghanistan”.

Turkey continues to share its knowledge and experience through TİKA with a number of countries from the Pacific to Central Asia, from the Middle East to Africa and the Balkans and from Caucasia to Latin America. To support this endeavor TİKA has 33 Program Coordination Offices in 30 countries and conducts cooperation centered on development in nearly 100 countries. In this context Turkey has realized over 700 projects in Afghanistan since 2005 to date through TİKA. 86 schools have been built by TİKA in Afghanistan to contribute to the Education sector since 2005 and nearly 100 thousand students are provided with education yearly. The 12- classroom multi-educational center built by TİKA will provide education at Elementary, Secondary and High School levels. Students from 12 surrounding villages will be attending the school in shifts of 350 students for a total of 700 students once the school year starts.
