Support In The Health Sector In Tanzania

 

With the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Turkish doctors from Ufuk Doctors Association, which is a branch of Marmara Health Federation went to Tanzania to help for the solving of the health problems. The group consists of 47 medical personnel including 7 professors.
The Delegation who went to Darussalam, met with Hussein Ali Mwinyi, Tanzania’s Minister of Health. Hussein Ali Mwinyi who graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine 20 years before, expressed that he is very pleased about Turkish doctors’ visit to his country.

Mr Mwinyi expressed his gratitude by saying that he always felt himself as half Turkish. He also emphasized that the relationship between two countries will get stronger with health projects. By stating that they need doctors, he wished for increasingly continuation of the cooperation.

Professor Şerif Ali Tekcan, Rector of Fatih University said that they would support Tanzania. President of the Ufuk Doctors Association, Professor Ömer Faruk Akıncı stated that they came to Tanzania with TİKA’s supports. They will perform surgical operations and examine patients in Zanzibar and Bagamoyo. Mr Akıncı also pointed out that, their aim is to strengthen the relationship between two countries by helping in the field of health. The delegation who also brought some necessary medicine, worked in the region for 10 days.
