26 September 2022Humanitarian Aid Vehicle from TİKA to the War Victims in Ukraine
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) donated a humanitarian aid vehicle so that people who have been deported and affected by war since Russian invasion of Ukraine can receive emergency humanitarian aid.
After Russian occupation in Ukraine, Crimean Tatars, who are Ukrainian citizens living in Kherson, Dnipro, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia, had to move to safer regions in the country. Upon the demand of International Aid Foundation, Crimean National Wealth Fund, TİKA provided a vehicle to transport humanitarian aid to war victims.
The vehicle was delivered at a ceremony. Türkiye’s Extraordinary And Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine, Yağmur Ahmet Güldere, TİKA’s Program Coordinator in Ukraine, Cüneyt Esmer, National Leader of Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Abdülcemil Kırımoğlu, Refat Çubarov, Chairman of The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, and the Managing Director of Crimean National Wealth Fund, Lenur Mambetov participated in the ceremony.
Ambassador Güldere delivered a speech at the ceremony and said, “After Russia started its Ukrainian invasion on February 24, 2022, both our embassy and other official and non-governmental institutions from our country started to work for providing humanitarian aid. We are trying to deliver humanitarian aid to war victims as much as we can. On this occasion, I would like to thank TİKA for providing this vehicle.”
Kırımoğlu, the leader of Crimean Tatars thanked Turkish people for all the humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine by the Republic of Türkiye after the war started.
The Chairman of The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Refat Çubarov stated that after the war started, Crimean Tatars established a Humanitarian Aid Coordination Centre in Lviv and helped Crimean Tatars reach Türkiye through this centre. Çubarov said, “I’d like to thank for the logistics support provided to our citizens in Lviv so that they could reach Türkiye. Also, I’d like to thank TİKA for the vehicle they donated to provide humanitarian aid to citizens coming from the south, west and middle of the country.”
