Held in Cooperation with TİKA, the “New Media Journalism Advanced Training” Has Been Successfully Completed

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and TRT held the 5-day “New Media Journalism Advanced Training” at the General Directorate of TRT for 20 press members who were selected among the trainees who had successfully completed the “New Media Journalism Basic Training,” which was held in Turkic Republics.

At the ceremony held after the training, which was participated by 20 press members from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, certificates were presented to the trainees by Rahman Nurdun, TİKA’s Vice President, and Fethi Fahri Kaya, Deputy Director-General of TRT.

“A sign of friendly relations…”

In his speech at the ceremony, Rahman Nurdun, TİKA’s Vice President, stated that they cooperated with TRT in many fields. He added, “The Turkic Council, which was founded in 2009 as a sign of the improving solidarity and friendly relations between Turkic-speaking states, is now known as the ‘Organization of Turkic States’ and establishes stronger partnerships between these countries. We are delighted to host Turkic press members in Turkey.”

Nurdun stressed the importance of improving the professional capacities of press members working in friendly and sister countries in line with current requirements. He underlined that since 2017, nearly 1,700 press members have attended the training courses held in Turkey and abroad as part of the “Media Training Programs.”

“I consider this program not as a training program, but as an experience sharing program.”

Fethi Fahri Kaya, Deputy Director-General of TRT, delivered a speech about the training and said, “I consider this program not as a training program, but as an experience sharing program. I hope that the sharing of experience will not be limited to this 5-day training program and that our relations will continue.”

The 5-day training program included courses for press members on the Use of Social Media, Content Creation in Digital Media, Strategy Management in Digital Media, and Design in Digital Media.
