12th International Magazine Fair Organized in İstanbul with Support of TİKA

The 12th International Magazine Fair was organized in İstanbul by DERGİBİR (World Union of Magazines) with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

The "12th International Magazine Fair" was organized in memory of journalist, instructor and author Asım Gültekin between September 29-October 3 at the Sirkeci Railway Station. In the area reserved for Asım Gültekin, the founding president of DERGİBİR and the pioneer of magazine fairs, his works, special magazines, books and photographs were exhibited.

The fair, which was attended by hundreds of magazines published in Turkey and abroad, hosted various events and interviews. The fair visitors participated in more than 97 events organized over 5 days such as speed reading and writing lessons in Ottoman, magazine workshops, concerts, panels, author appearances, and drawing workshops.

On the other hand, dozens of cartoons drawn by members of the Union of World Cartoonists (UWC) were exhibited for the first time at the fair.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, President of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities Abdullah Eren and İstanbul Provincial Director of Culture and Toursim Coşkun Yılmaz were also among the visitors of the fair.
