TİKA Continuous Its Projects In Serbia

 

 With the contribution of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, 20 Greenhouses were supplied to Priboy Municipality, Reading Room of Novi Pazar Library was reconditioned in Novi Pazar, Birth Incubator was supplied to Novi Pazar Hospital, Greenhouse Watering System, Sprinkler System and Heating System were built in Tutin and Lighting System was built in Ram Fortress. Opening ceremonies of these projects were held in Serbia.

TİKA Vice-President M. Süreyya Er, a large number of deputy ministers, mayors and local senior managers attended the opening ceremony.

TİKA Vice-President M. Süreyya Er was welcomed with cheers. In his speech, he gave information about the works of TİKA. And he stated that cooperation between Turkey and Serbia will be continued.

20 Greenhouses were supplied to Priboy Municipality

TİKA has been working on supplying greenhouses to least developed municipalities in the south of Serbia. In this context, 20 greenhouses were supplied per each municipality like Novi Pazar, Raska and Priboy.

Within the scope of the project, it was contributed to the development of small rural households and meeting the market needs with the production of vegetables and fruits.

Hospital in Novi Pazar Receives Incubator

Incubators became old and even useless throughout the country. After the break up of Yugoslavia, because of war and economic crises encountered in the region, there couldn’t be an investment in the field of health. Especially, being shortage of incubators in the least developed hospital, there were high mortality rate in children born prematurely. In this context, TİKA donated 3 incubators to the hospitals in Serbia.

Renovation of Reading Room of Novi Pazar Library

Novi Pazar is the most important city of Sancak region where has been populated by the Bosniaks. Dositej Obradovic Library which was built in 1947 was located in Novi Pazar and it has been serving for 60 years.

In the library, over 80 thousand books are available and the number of members has reached 5 thousand. While the library hasn’t been reconditioned for 60 years, with the contribution of TİKA, its reading room was renovated.

Greenhouse watering, heating and sprinkler systems were built in Tutin

Watering, heating and sprinkler systems were built in Sebecevo village. Thanks to these systems, it was provided employment to 35 people.

 

 

Lighting System was built in Ram Fortress

Ram Fortress which was one of the dominated fortresses of Danube was inherited from the Ottoman Empire and Sultan Bayezid the second was rebuilt this fortress.

To protect our cultural values and to make contribution to tourism, TİKA built lightening system to Ram Fortress.
