Within the scope of providing support to the educational infrastructure in Kenya the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate has completed the renovation of the Najah Educational Center in Kenya’s coastal city of Malindi and supplied technical equipment.
TİKA completed renovations and supplied technical equipment so that students at the Najah Education Center could receive a modern education and develop their research infrastructure. In addition to the students from Kenya, 70 students from Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Comor Islands attend school at the Najah Education Center free of charge. The center, which offers vocational activities as well as religious education, provides certification in electricity, health, carpentry, tailoring and computer courses.
Four new classrooms were constructed within the renovation work done by TİKA in order to prevent crowding in the classrooms and the living conditions of students were improved with the renewal of the dormitories and toilets. Also the technical equipment and materials that were provided made it possible to establish a computer laboratory and a tailoring classroom.
The renovation of the Najah Education Center and provision of technical equipment will contribute to the development and growth of the center and the improvement of educational conditions. Also this project which has been realized by TİKA is expected to be a great contributor in the creation of qualified human resources needed for development in the Coastal Region of Kenya.
