TİKA and TRT Jointly Provide Training to Media Personnel in South Sudan

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has partnered up with TRT to organize training programs on radio and television broadcasting oriented towards employees of South Sudan's General Directorate of Radio and Television and the team employed at the Presidential Press Unit.

TİKA places great importance on press-related projects with the aim of strengthening the examples of Turkey's proactive foreign policy on the field with firm steps, promoting Turkey's development and progress in all areas in sister nations, and sharing experiences in such areas. In this regard, TİKA and TRT have offered support to ensure their experience in the fields of radio and television are conveyed to the employees of South Sudan's General Directorate of Radio and Television and the Presidential Press Unit through a weeklong training program in Ankara.

TRT's specialized staff organized a 25-hour training program on camera use, lighting, sound, montage, news writing techniques, and radio and television programming for a group consisting of 12 individuals. Participants who successfully completed the training program were presented certificates by South Sudan's Ambassador to Ankara Majok Guandong. During his speech at the ceremony, Guandong expressed that their nation was young and, therefore, was in need of Turkey's experience in all areas, and added that he wished for the continuation of training programs on media in the future.
