TİKA Continues to Implement Healthcare Projects

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) renovated and equipped the Children’s Hospital of Infectious Diseases affiliated with the City of Tursunzoda Central Hospital.

Upon the request of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population, the children’s infectious diseases division on the 3rd floor of the hospital, which is located in the city of Tursunozda with a population of 300,000 people and which admits over 3,000 patients each year, was thoroughly renovated and equipped.

With the project completed by TİKA, a 33-bed children’s infectious diseases division was set up on the 3rd floor of the hospital and the capacity of the hospital was increased. In addition to the patients’ rooms, the section containing the intensive care unit, the emergency room and the lounges of doctors and nurses was renovated and these were renewed with materials that were brought from Turkey.

The opening ceremony following the renovation that was carried out upon the request of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population was attended by  Tajikistan’s Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population Olimzoda Nasim Khoja, Turkey’s Dushanbe Ambassador Ali Rifat Köksal and TİKA Vice-President Mehmet Süreyya Er.

Tajikistan’s Minister of Health Olimzoda stated that they are extremely happy with the healthcare projects carried out by TİKA and they wish the productive collaboration they have with TİKA to continue in the future at an increased pace.
