Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), organized in the Colombian capital Bogota, a stand of Turkey in the International Book Fair of Bogotá.
The richness of our country's culture and tourism was shared with the visitors. The books of the well-known authors of our country were translated into Spanish and other languages. Turkish tea were served to delight visitors to the booth, they were curious about our country and questions were answered.
The International Bogota Book Fair, organized by the Colombian Book Association since 1988, is one of the most important cultural programs for Spanish-speaking countries. 170 authors from 23 countries participated in the book fair, the main theme of the fair this year was Colombia's historical course and the development of the Republic, in the framework of the 200 years of the Battle of Boyacá, in honor of commemorating the ideas and concepts that gave life to the Republic.
In the fair where the themes of reality, woman, earth and universe were discussed, seminars and conversations were held about peace, multiculturalism, common life and local cultures. More than 600 thousand people visited the fair.
Exchange of information was giving regarding Turkey's past activities, a presentation on the perception of Turkey and Turkish TV series was carry out, as well, Turkish songs were performed on the stand.
In his speech at the opening of the fair, President of Colombia Iván Duque said: “Culture is a symbol and common denominator that unites and transforms Colombia beyond any ideology or impersonation. Colombia has been advancing for 200 years without losing speed and is now trying to fulfill the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In this period where we witness the rapid advance of artificial intelligence, literature and culture will continue to form the basis of humanity and humanity.”
