Turkey Provides Food Aid to 700 Families in Tunisia to Combat COVID19

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) provided food parcels to 700 families in need in the provinces of Kasserine and Gafsa in Tunisia in cooperation with the Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity (UTSS) to combat the coronavirus.

Most economic activities have halted in Tunisia, where a general quarantine has been imposed since March 21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The provinces of Kasserine and Gafsa, the most financially-vulnerable regions in the country, have been affected the most by this development. As part of its traditional activities to support families in need around the world during the month of Ramadan each year, TİKA provided food aid to 700 families in need in the provinces of Kasserine and Gafsa in Tunisia this year.

A total of 700 food parcels containing staples such as flour, sugar, vegetable oil, pasta, couscous, pastina, chickpea, semolina, tomato paste, canned tuna, and halva were delivered to local offices of the Tunisian Union of Social Solidarity in Kasserine and Gafsa to be distributed to those in need under the supervision of the governorships of Kasserine and Gafsa.
