20 May 2021TİKA's Erenler Sofrası is in Ecuador
As part of the “Erenler Sofrası” Ramadan Program, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) distributed Ramadan packages to 750 families in Ecuador.
Within the scope of the distribution program which has been initiated in the city of Quito, 100 Ramadan packages were delivered to needy families from the Muslim Community in Ecuador in cooperation with the Khaled Ibn Al Walid Islamic Cultural Center.
In his speech on behalf of the Islamic Center, the imam Sh. Fadl Shaaban Fadl said: “On behalf of the directors of the Khaled Ibn Al Walid Islamic Cultural Center and the Muslim community in Ecuador, we'd like to extend our utmost gratitude towards TİKA for their great support. Thanks to this generous aid, the Center has been able to distribute 100 food packages to needy people who have been seriously affected by the pandemic. A lot of people have lost their jobs due to the pandemic. May Allah bless your heart.”
Within the scope of the aid that has been carried out in cooperation with the Guayaquil Islamic Center, food and hygiene packages were distributed to 150 families living in Guayaquil, the most populated city in Ecuador.
Having expressed his gratitude for this support, a beneficiary in Guayaquil said: “I'd like to thank TİKA for the aid packages that they sent us. May Allah reward you. The aid has been really helpful because we're facing financial difficulties.”
Juan Saud, the President of the Guayaquil Islamic Center, thanked TİKA and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey by saying: “May Allah help you multiply your projects and give you the opportunity to help us more.”
TİKA also delivered food packages to 500 families in cooperation with the Ecuadorian Secretariat for Risk and Emergency Management (SNGRE) in the cities of Esmeraldas, Manabí, Los Ríos, Guayas and El Oro which have been affected by the flood, as well as the cities of Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Bolívar, Cañar which have been affected by the eruption of the Sangay Volcano.
