TİKA's Erenler Sofrası is in Zambia

As part of the “Erenler Sofrası” Ramadan Program, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) delivered food packages to 1,000 families in Zambia.

TİKA provided food aid for 1,000 families in Zambia through the Turkish Embassy in Lusaka. The distribution, which took place in the areas that have been affected by the flood, was carried out in cooperation with the Zambia Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit operating under the Office of the Vice President. The distribution ceremony was attended by İstem Cırcıroğlu, Ambassador of Turkey in Lusaka, and Olipah Phiri Mwansa, Minister at the Office of the Vice President.

In her speech during the ceremony, Ambassador Cırcıroğlu said: “Turkey's expertise and experience lie at the heart of this initiative. As an emerging donor, Turkey has been sharing their humanitarian aid and development aid experience with Africa, particularly in capacity increase and corporate development”, and underlined that TİKA was ready for cooperation in order to reduce the poverty and provide sustainable development. Zambian Minister Olipah Phiri Mwansa, on the other hand, stated that the Edgar Lungu government would always support the projects of TİKA which increase the living standards of the people.
