Türkiye Shares Its Experience in Health Sector with Azerbaijan

“Türkiye – Azerbaijan Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, Pain Workshop Days” organised in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan came to an end.

The event was organized by the Turkish Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Association and the Union of Azerbaijani Reanimation and Anaesthesiology Specialists. The opening ceremony was attended by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Baku, Cahit Bağcı, Azerbaijani Vice Minister of Health, Nadir Zeynalov, Chairman of the Health Council in Azerbaijani National Parliament, Ehliman Emiraslanov as well as representatives from the association and doctors.  

“Investment made in human is permanent”

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Baku, Bağcı gave a speech at the event organized with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and thanked doctors and employees of the intensive care unit for their efforts to keep people alive during the Covid- 19 pandemics. Bağcı indicated that Türkiye and Azerbaijan organised the third event focused on human health this year and said any investment made in human is permanent. He added projects in health sector serve this purpose, too.  

Importance of Anaesthesiology and Urgent Therapy

Chairman of the Health Council in Azerbaijani National Parliament, Emiraslanov said that the importance of anaesthesiology and urgent therapy was more clearly understood during the Covid-19 pandemics. Emiraslanov stated, "Another topic of the event today is Pain Polyclinic. Unfortunately, in Azerbaijan there are not enough specialists in this field. Today, Azerbaijani specialists will enrich their experience with the support of Turkish doctors”.

Theoretical and Practical Trainings

The Head of Turkish Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Association, Meral Kanbak said she believes the relations between them and the Union of Azerbaijani Reanimation and Anaesthesiology Specialists will increase. Kanbak explained they have come to Azerbaijan with 20 experienced professors to give theoretical and practical trainings during this event.

“TİKA Supports Such Activities”

TİKA’s Baku Coordinator, Fatih Yılmaz indicated that the exchanges between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in health sector have become more intense. Yılmaz stated that activities that help the scientists of these two brother countries exchange information and experience are very important to establish efficient and permanent cooperation between the two countries. Yılmaz added that TİKA supports such activities.  

The event during which various presentations were made and trainings were given lasted 2 days.
