Training for the Healthcare Professionals of the Aziz Sancar Diagnostic and Treatment Center

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) organized a training program in Turkey for the healthcare professionals at the Aziz Sancar Diagnostic and Treatment Center, an important facility for the Moldovan health industry.

6 medical specialists and 1 nurse participated in the training program, which aims to broaden the knowledge and experience of the healthcare professionals at the hospital, in addition to improving the efficiency and the quality of service of the center. Training courses were organized in the fields of General Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, and Radiology at Ankara Gülhane Training and Research Hospital for 3 weeks.

A new Diagnostic and Treatment Center was built within the existing campus of the “Regional Hospital” in Comrat, the capital of Gagauzia in the Republic of Moldova. Built as a two-story building, the Center has 2,700 sq. meters of indoor area and 6,800 sq. meters of total area. Equipped with modern medical devices, the New Diagnostic and Treatment Center has a capacity of 56 beds and serves approximately 40,000 people annually with services in internal medicine, pediatrics, radiology, tomography, and ultrasound, in addition to basic clinic and health services.

Named after Nobel Prize-winning Turkish scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar, the Center was put into service on October 18, 2018 with the inauguration ceremony attended by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
