TİKA's Study Visit To Somaliland

A delegation of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency made a study visit to Somaliland to examine the Vocational Training Center to be constructed in Hargeisa and other projects on site.

A delegation of TIKA visited Somaliland Minister of Education Zamzam Abdi Aden, senior officials of the Ministry and of the Presidential Office and exchanged views on TIKA projects in the country. Minister Aden expressed her gratitude for and willingness of the government to facilitate TIKA’s visit. Ms. Aden further noted their gratitude for Turkish assistance and continued support.

Following the bilateral talks, the delegation visited the sites of TIKA projects realized in Somaliland; consequently, TIKA delegation and Somaliland officials expressed mutual satisfaction for the projects.

Turkish Ambassador to Djibouti Hasan Yavuz expressed his happiness on the occasion of site visits to TIKA’s ongoing projects. Mr. Yavuz highlighted the partiality shown to Turkey in Somaliland, and hoped TIKA’s efforts in the country would continuously grow.

TIKA Vice President Süreyya Polat assured that TIKA’s assistance to Somaliland would further grow and advance bilateral relations to higher levels. Mr. Polat said in a specific note that the works commenced for the construction of two orphanages in Hargeisa, and the works for drilling a water well in the region neighboring Ethiopia.
