TİKA Trains Healthcare Providers in Yemen on COVID-19

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) started to train healthcare providers in the city of Aden, located in southern Yemen, to fight the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Speaking to an AA correspondent, TİKA’s Yemen Office Coordinator Abdullah Sarı said that the agency organized a 3-day workshop in the Khormakser district of Aden with the participation of the representatives of the healthcare sector from 8 districts of the city.

Sarı remarked that 360 people would attend the workshops in groups of 45 and would be trained on the fight against COVID-19 with presentations on healthcare. He noted that their aim is to ensure healthcare providers in Aden fight the outbreak in the most correct way possible.

Stating that they also aim to raise awareness among the public on personal hygiene in order to protect them from the outbreak, Sarı added that they would hold similar training sessions for healthcare providers in the cities of Lahij, Abyan, and Dhale in cooperation with Yemen’s Ministry of Health.
